Carol has extensive experience as an author, structural editor, information specialist and educator. She is a natural born story-teller who is highly skilled in arranging verbal and visual information into meaningful narrative patterns. Her demonstrated capabilities include:

Writer/Editor Carol has written for a wide range of clients, particularly in the areas of health and social policy. She has broad knowledge of the publication process and significant experience in producing magazines, brochures, reports and web content. Clients have included NSW Health, Research Australia, The Victor Chang Foundation, HCOA (now Affinity Health), Of Substance Magazine and The Nous Group.
Literary works and Essays
Carol is also the author of literary works and essays. An on-line example of her essay style appears in the Spring 2010 issue of Meanjin. Information Specialist Carol’s career is hallmarked by her ability to shape information in meaningful ways for a wide range of audiences. An example includes a unique approach to place making strategy for the GPT Group. This project involved collecting oral and written stories on a region and shaping them into a central narrative to inspire architectural design. She has also worked for the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Foundation and the Addiction Research Foundation in Canada. In these positions she created innovative print and audiovisual materials, including scripts for comics and segments for a children’s television program.
Educator Carol is well regarded for her work in community education. High profile campaigns created for the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne earned her the Lady Derham Scholarship in recognition of her contribution toward child safety.
Carol has taught creative writing at undergraduate and graduate level at the University of Technology in Sydney. She is also a member of the Creative Team for Varuna where she supports writers through the Reading Review and Consultation Program.
